Raazia Chandoo was born in Karachi Pakistan. She attended Rhode Island School of Design from 1983-85 and completed her BFA Degree at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in 1987 where she settled after her marriage.
Thereafter, spending time between London and Karachi from 1988-1990, she designed fashion hair acessorries which were exhibited in London and Karachi. Upon her return to the US, she studied basic metalsmithing techniques and produced series of necklaces based on international folk culture in brass, silver and loom woven beadwork. She resumed painting in 1997.
Raazia lives in Armonk with her husband and children and spends her time between the US and Karachi, Pakistan.
